This Waterfront Rental Cottage adjoins a pebble Strand with spectacular views of Ardgroom Harbour, Kenmare Bay and the surrounding Caha Mountains - a place to get away from it all. 700 yards to 2 small sandy Beaches - from which Seals can be seen at certain times (from the Strand in front of the Cottage turn left for a few hundred yards, then turn right on to a small peninsula and the Beaches are on the East side). Also see Seashells along the Strand and the Beaches. Fresh Water and Sea/Rock Fishing, Caves, and Hill Walking oppertunities available locally - within a few hundred yards to 3 miles from the Cottage. Golfing, Deep Sea Fishing, Sightseeing Cruises, Dive & Sailing Centers, Water Sports, Horse Riding & Riding School and unique Gardens are in a 6 to 20 mile range. Archaeological sites in Ardgroom and throughout the Peninsula. Arts & Crafts. There are also Booklets in the Cottage that contain additional information about the Cottage, the above activities and on the local area. ACCOMODATION

COTTAGE: Open plan living room/kitchen. Sitting room with pullout couch. One open sleeping loft over living room with 2 single beds and a bunk bed. Second open sleeping loft over sitting room with a double bed. Sleeps up to 6. The sleeping lofts are separated by a stone wall. Travel Cot, Child Bed, Child Safety Gate, and Baby Chair available. Cooker, Fridge/Freezer, Microwave, Toaster, Electric Coffee Maker, Electric Kettle, Washer and Dryer. Drying Rack, Clothes Line and Iron available. Bathroom with Shower. Central heat, and open Fireplace.

 

ANNEX: Also, there is a one bedroom Annex adjacent to the Cottage with a double bed, a child bed, a small bathroom with shower and a small kitchen area. The kitcken has a stove, fridge/freezer, sink, coffee maker and electric kettle. The Annex can be rented in conjunction with the Cottage at an additional rent - thus sleeping 8 in total. The Annex can also be rented separately. (See Annex photos below).

 

LOCAL AMENITIES & ACTIVITIES

Ardgroom Village is 2 miles away and has a Shop, Post Office, ATM, and Cafe/Deli - with Internet (all in the same premises), a Pub, and Restaurant (Summer). Eyeries Village, 5 miles away also has a Restaurant. Kenmare, Co. Kerry, 20 miles away has many restaurants and cafes. Castletownbere,10 miles away also has some restaurants and cafes, a bank, a Tourist Office, supermarket (with ATM), fish shop, and many other shops. In addition, Castletownbere has several pubs that serve food, including the historic Mccarthy's Bar. Some of the the pubs also have live music. The Town has a picturesque fishing port - from which there is also leisure Deep Sea Fishing.

 

On the Farm see cows, calves, rabbits. Sea/Rock fishing, Caves and Hill Walking oppertunities are within a few hundred yards from the Cottage. The Cottage is a short distance from the beautiful Beara Way Walking Trail which runs along cliffs overlooking the waterfront, and from which there is a panaramic view of the Bay and the Kerry Mountains streching from the Atlantic Ocean to Kenmare. Fresh Water Fishing in Glenbeg Lake 3 miles away. 

 

There is Horse Riding and a Riding School in Urhan about 6 miles away (near Eyeries Village). There are unique Gardens in two picturesque locations, both by the Seaside - Lauragh, Co. Kerry 7 miles away (at Derreen Gardens) and in Glengarriff, Co. Cork about 25 miles away (in Garnish Island). West Cork Sailing & Powerboat Center is about 15 miles away in Adrigole, Co. Cork, and Canoes and Kayacks can be rented here as well. In Adrigole there is also a Waterfall - at the foot Hungry Hill. Boat Trips, Sailing, Canoeing/Kayaking, and other water sports are at Star Outdoors 15 miles away at Dowros on the Kenmare Road (near Kenmare, Co. Kerry) - there is a Pub and Restaurant overlooking the Waterfront at this facility also.

 

Allihies, 15 miles away has a beach and arts & crafts. Off the tip of the Peninsula at 20 miles is historic Dursey Island which can be reached by cable car. Another historic location is Bere Island and can be visited using the ferry from Castletownbere or the ferry from Furious Pier about 3 miles east of the Town. 38 miles to historic Bantry House & Gardens. Killarney National Park & Lakes/Muckross Castle & Gardens is about 40 miles away.

 

Festivals: Eyeries Annual Family Festival takes place in mid July.  The Annual Allihies Festival is in mid August and includes horse racing, sports competitions, and music. The Castletownbere Annual Regatta & Festival is in the first week of August - which also includes outdoor music and a carnival. In Kenmare there are also festivals during July and August.

    WEEKLY RENTAL RATES & TERMS

Molly's Cottage: Low Season from 275 Euro. High Season from 550 Euro.

Molly's Annex: Low Season from 150 Euro. High Season from 225 Euro.

 

 Also, at certain times we have Special Offers at lower rates - for special prices and for dates offers are available contact us via the email address or phone number below.  Short Breaks available with a minimum stay of 2 to 3 nights - contact owners for details. Bed linen and towels are provided. Final cleaning of the premises and washing of towels and bed linen are included in the rent. Electricity & Oil are extra based on usage - normally in the 25 to 30 Euro range per week and payable at end of stay when the meters are read.

 

Booking deposit is 30% of rental. We will hold your reservation for 7 days pending receipt of deposit. Balance of payment is due 2 months prior to your stay. Payment is in Euro - via bank transfer. Rental period is Saturday to Saturday, but we may be able to arrange other days. Check-in time is after 3pm and check-out time is before 11am, but we may be able to arrange other times. Pets allowed.

Cottage address: Molly's Cottage, Pallas, Ardgroom Inward, Beara, County Cork, Ireland.

Directions: From Ardgroom Village proceed to Ardgroom Inward for 2 miles and Cottage is on the right hand side on elevated ground 150 yards past Pallas Pier - also on the right hand side. Cottage is about 50 yards back from the public road. Parking: There is private parking space to the left of the Cottage.
